Location:

Blaine, Washington

Owner:

British Petroleum

Description:

The client needed to offload two (2) new boilers from long-haul transportation and rotate them to a vertical position for preparations. The boilers weighed 255,000# and were 16' wide x 19' tall and 40' long. After the preparations were complete, the client needed to transport the boilers across the plant and under a piperack for lifting into final position. Additionally, the client required a maximum ground loading of 2,500# per square foot. Sicklesteel provided the cranes to offload, rotate and set the boilers as well as the on-site transportation. Additionally, Sicklesteel provided all of the critical lift information, transportation plans, and ground bearing plans. Sicklesteel utilized a DEMAG AC1600 (650 ton) and a DEMAG AC1300 (500 ton) to set the boilers in their final position. The project finished on-time and under budget while meeting all of the clients requirements.
