Dow Chemical - Facility Expansion

The client's project involved placing numerous pre-manufactured modular sections to expand the facility as well as many vessels with weights up to 400,000#. Sicklesteel proposed utilizing a DEMAG TC3200 (625 ton) with full superlift in order to accomplish the lifts. A key to the projects success was Sicklesteel's design of a track assembly to transport the superlift counterweight on a self-contained framework and independent of the crane. This allowed the counterweight to be moved into position after the crane was set-up thereby maximizing the on-hook utilization of the DEMAG TC3200. The project was completed ahead of schedule and substantially under budget constraints.
